Assessment Using Digital Portfolios:

Portfolios are Excellent way to provide evidence for:
  • Authentic or Performance-Based Assessment- "...Does not focus on rote learning..." ( p. 17)
      • Examples include:
        • Voice recordings/Podcasts of speech, reading, and reflections of curricular learning
        • Videos (screencasts/Vodcasts) where students guide their audience through digital or traditional projects created
        • scanned images of curricular mastery evidence such as writing that was originally completed on paper
        • Digital pictures of student work
        • student presentations embedded directly in portfolio

    • Project-Based- Creation of projects to assess student's understanding of a curricular outcome(s)-
      • Examples Include:
        • images or embedding of presentations that demonstrate student learning
        • choice of student expression of understanding of topic
    • Digitized traditional assessments
